Welcome to Crail Golfing Society
5th green on Balcomie Welcome to the official web site of the Crail Golfing Society, the 7th oldest golf club in the world. Our members and visitors have been enjoying some of the finest links golf in Scotland - many say the world - since 1786.

Golfing legend Old Tom Morris laid out the Balcomie course in 1895 and in 1998 a second course, Craighead Links, was designed by Gil Hanse, whose outstanding work was recognised in 2009 with the Golf Course Architect of the Year Award.

Course Status

Winter course closures commenced on 28th November and run until 3rd March. Members please check diary for details.

Balcomie course: Closed for winter maintenance

Craighead course: Open on full greens

 From Monday the 31st of October golf buggies are not permitted on the courses owing to unsuitable ground conditions.
